Delaware County Direct Share Opioid Settlement Funds

November 19, 2025

In 2022, the Delaware County Board of Supervisors instituted a committee of persons having a demonstrated interest in response to the opioid crisis faced by our county to review and approve proposals requesting funding from Opioid Settlement Funds the County has received.  The Opioid Settlement Committee (OSC) comprises of Town Supervisors, County Department heads, and a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS).  Each member brings to the table first-hand experience and knowledge of how the opioid crisis has had a significant impact on the residents of Delaware County.

Upon submission of requests for Opioid Settlement funding (see Delaware County Request for Funding Proposal (RFP), Dated February 21, 2024, updated June 20, 2024) on the Delaware County website: www.delcony.us/blog/delaware-county-opioid-settlement-fund/, the OSC will review each proposal and vote to approve or deny funding.  The Opioid Settlement Committee may ask the proposing organization to attend an OSC meeting to provide more details of their proposal and answer any questions the committee may have.

As of November 19, 2025, Delaware County has received the following Direct Share Opioid Settlement funding:

2023 – $  78,630.83
2024 – $299,692.58
2025 – $  32,693.21

Total Direct Share Opioid Settlement funding received = $422,016.62

As of November 19, 2025, $0.00 Direct Share Funds have been encumbered or spent.

Note that Direct Share Opioid Settlement Funds are allotted separately from the Opioid Settlement Regional Abatement funding of which the Delaware County Local Government Unit (LGU) has received $762,725 and allocated $602,819.21 to approved proposals.  As of November 19, 2025, the available balance of Regional Abatement Funds is $159,905.79.
